Northern and Central Bank of England
Northern and Central Bank of England was established in Manchester in 1834 on Brown Street was a joint stock bank. It slowly gained several other English bankers (such as Mare & Eaton and Charles Evans) and had many branches. In 1836, facing financial trouble, it sought help from the Bank of England, but it did not recover and was liquidated in 1839.
