Nuremberg is a large city in Bavaria, Germany. It was the unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire, and the Diets of Nuremberg were important legislation for governing the empire. Prior to and during World War II, many Nazi rallies occurred here, and it was the site of the Nuremberg Trials, at which many Nazi officials were held accountable for their crimes.
