The Orkney Islands is where Victor hesitantly agreed to start his work on the companion for the monster. This decision had a larger impact than Victor could imagine. From this moment the chase began and Victor lost sight of the meaning and significance behind the intentions when he destroyed the companion. This small Island of the the coast of Scotland provided the seclusion Victor needed to complete the task but it proved to be the birth of his undoing.
