Palazzo Strozzi

A palace in Florence, constructed from 1489 to 1538. It was built for Filippo Strozzi the Elder, who wanted to use the palace to boast his family's strength, prominence, and political status.
It is referenced in pg. 248 of Valperga, when guests are being received for Euthanasia and Castruccio's wedding: "These illustrious visitors were received with honors by the magistrates of Florence: a palace was assigned for their abode. [...] It's chief ornaments were palaces of massy stone, surmounted by high towers, each able to sustain a siege: some specimens of this architecture, the Palazzo Strozzi, and the Palazzo Pitti, now a ducal residence, exist to this day. They are grand and imposing; but the sombre air which they give to the streets, was better suited to those warlike and manly times."
