Quebec

Quebec is a province in eastern Canada. French settlement in the region began in the sixteenth century, and the province remains predominantly French-speaking. France ceded most of its colonial possessions in Canada, including Quebec, to Britain in the eighteenth century. Quebec was one of the provinces to join the Confederation of Canada in 1867. Its capital is Quebec City, and its largest city is Montreal.
