Royal London Hospital
The Royal London Hospital (previously called the London Infirmary; the London Hospital), is a large hospital in London, England. It was founded in 1740 at a house in Featherstone Street, Moorfields and was the only voluntary hospital located in the impoverished East End. The hospital was then located at Prescot Street from 1741–1757 and was moved in 1757 to its current location on Whitechapel Road, Whitechapel, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Redevelopment and expansion of the hospital was undertaken in 2005, which included updating certain facilities that had dated back to the hospital’s original building at that site in 1757.
