Scandinavia
Scandinavia is a subregion in Northern Europe -- most commonly refers to Denmark, Norway and Sweden, or can more narrowly refer to the Scandinavian Peninsula which excludes Denmark but includes a part of Finland. Most notable during the Viking Age (Wiki)
In Beachy Head, Smith writes, "Of Scandinavia the undaunted sons..." (128) Referring to the Vikings of the age who began to leave the peninsula in search of more inhabitable areas that weren't as miserably cold and unforgiving as the North.
