Spanish Town, Jamaica
Spanish Town is a small city located in southeast Jamacia. This small city is known for its historical buildings, and one of the most famous is St. Catherine's Cathedral. This small city was once busy and full of life, but now it is known for producing Ligyanea Plain. Spanish Town is first mentioned in an excerpt from "Wide Sagrasso Sea" when the narrator says, " When I asked her why so few people came to see us, she told me that the road from Spanish Town to Coulibri Estate where we lived was very bad". This quote makes sense in the context of the history of Spanish Town because during the time this was written the downfall of Spanish Town had already begun.
