The Städelsches Kunstinstitut, or Städel Museum, is an art museum in Frankfurt, housing one of Germany’s most important art collections of classic Pan-European art. It was founded in 1817 when banker Johann Friedrich Städel bequeathed his house and art collection for this purpose.
