St. Bartholomew's Hospital

St. Bartholomew’s Hospital is a hospital in the City of London. The hospital dates back to 1123 and the current hospital is still located on the same site. It is home to the St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, founded in 1843, which has now merged with Queen Mary University of London but retains a presence on and near the original site. In literature, Dr. John Watson first meets Sherlock Holmes in Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study in Scarlet.
