Located in the Province of Pisa, near Florence, this area was an attraction to 18th century travelers due to the growth of the thermal spa located there. It's home to many prominent homes. 

It is referenced on pg. 370 during Castruccio's conquering of Pisa: "During this summer also he conceived some hopes of taking Pisa. The head of the government there, who reigned entirely though the affections of the people, suddenly offended his masters; he was decapitated; and the various parties in the town running to arms, entered into a bloody warfare. At this moment, Castruccio appeared with his army on the hill of St Giuliano: this sight pacified the combatants."
