St. Louis

Located on the Mississippi River, St. Louis is a large city in the state of Missouri in the United States. It was founded in 1764 by French fur traders and named for France’s King Louis IX. The United States acquired it as part of the Louisiana Purchase. It hosted the 1904 World’s Fair and 1904 Summer Olympics. It is famous for being the start of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Gateway Arch.
