St. Marychurch

One of the oldest settlements along the English coast in Devon, St. Marychurch is a village located near Babbacombe and Torquay. As part of the “English Riviera,” the town’s economy relies on seaside tourism, which increased dramatically during the mid-nineteenth century due to the arrival of the Great Western Railway. Victorian zoologist Philip Henry Gosse made his home here.
