Surrey Institution
The Surrey Institution was a London-based intellectual organization modeled on the Royal Institution. It was active from 1807 until 1823. The Institution met in the Blackfriars Rotunda building in Southwark on the south bank of the river Thames (at the time part of the county of Surrey). Both Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Hazlitt lectured here.
