Taunton
Taunton is a town in the county of Somerset in the southwest of England. It is home to Taunton Castle, originally a Norman structure belonging to the Bishops of Winchester. During the English Civil War (1642–1651), the Parliamentarian town was besieged by Royalist forces. During the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685, the Duke of Monmouth crowned himself King of England at Taunton.
