Tibet

Tibet is a region in Central Asia covering much of the Tibetan Plateau. Tibet declared independence in 1913 from the Chinese Republican government, but was incorporated into the People’s Republic of China in 1951. The central region of Tibet is now known as the Tibet Autonomous Region, a province-level autonomous region within China. Tibet’s economy largely relies on agriculture, and Tibetan Buddhism is the most prominent religion.
