Torkamanchay

Torkamanchay is a city in the Torkamanchay District in Mianeh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. It is known for the Treaty of Turkmenchay of 1828, an agreement between Persia (Iran) and the Russian Empire, which concluded the Russo-Persian War (1826–28). The treaty resulted in Persia conceding several areas in the South Caucasus to Russian control.
