Transylvania
Transylvania is a region in central Romania near the Carpathian Mountains. It was ruled by the Roman Empire until 271 CE and then fell under control of various groups including the Huns and Visigoths. Hungary controlled the area for many centuries. Transylvania gained particular fame from Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula. Bran Castle is located here.
