Victoria Embankment

The Victoria embankment is part of the Thames Embankment along the north bank of the river Thames in central London, England. It runs from the Palace of Westminster to Blackfriars Bridge. The embankment contains several memorials and public gardens. It was designed by Joseph Bazalgette as a project of the Metropolitan Board of Works, which intended to provide London with a modern sewer system. It was the grandest and most complex of the three embankments constructed during this project.
