Volhynia

Volhynia is a region in Eastern and Central Europe, located near present-day Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus. Lutsky and Rivne are important cities. During World War II, the Soviet Union occupied parts of the region, and today it is a major part of the Ukraine. Leadership has changed many times in the region and thousands of people throughout history (often due to wars) have been expelled from the region by those in charge.
