Formerly called Port Nicholson until 1984, Wellington Harbor is located in Wellington, New Zealand. The New Zealand Company purchased the land for Port Nicholson in 1839; however, in 2003 the New Zealand Waitangi Tribunal found the deed of purchase invalid.
