Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare is a seaside town in Somerset, South West England. Weston became a prosperous seaside resort in the mid-Victorian era. The first railway station opened in 1841, attracting thousands of visitors from Bristol and the Midlands. To cater for them, Birnbeck Pier was completed in 1867, offering amusement arcades and rides, tea rooms, and a photography studio. A second railway, the Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway, opened on 1 December 1897.
