Wolverhampton is a city in England in the West Midlands. It was a center for coal mining and steel production during the Industrial Revolution. It gained parliamentary representation due to the Reform Act of 1832. A statue of Prince Albert stands in Queen Square, and Queen Victoria was present for its unveiling, which was her first public appearance after her husband’s death. David Lloyd George made his “Homes Fit for Heroes” speech here in 1918.
