Michael Johnston
Michael Johnston is Professor of English at Purdue University. His books include Romance and the Gentry in Late Medieval Literature (Oxford UP, 2014) and Scribes and Readers: The Middle English Book, 1350-1500 (Oxford UP, 2023); as editor, Robert Thornton and His Books: Essays on the Lincoln and London Thornton Manuscripts (York Medieval Press, 2014), and, with Michael Van Dussen, The Medieval Manuscript Book: Cultural Approaches (Cambridge UP, 2015). He has two current Digital Humanities projects: he is co-editor of the Digital Index of Middle English Verse (dimev.net) and he is working with David Gura (Curator of Ancient and Medieval Manuscripts, University of Notre Dame) on a digital catalogue of the manuscripts of the Middle English text, The Prick of Conscience.
