Jon Coburn

Senior Lecturer in American History/Programme Leader for BA (Hons) English and History at the University of Lincoln, UK.

I am a historian of activism in the 20th/21st century United States. My research focuses on the connections between protest movements, and I have particular interest in peace activism, the women's movement, civil rights, and the public memory of dissent. I am currently at the early stages of a research project exploring the phenomenon of protest suicide and self-immolation in modern American history.

Additionally, I have researched and published on the subject of information science and the importance of information literacy in the humanities.
