Lorraine Kooistra

Lorraine Janzen Kooistra is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and Emerita Professor of English at Toronto Metropolitan University (formely Ryersson). Her research focuses on Victorian illustrated books and periodicals, women's writing, and digital humanities. She is author of Poetry, Pictures, and Popular Publishing: The Illustrated Gift Book and Victorian Visual Culture; Christina Rossetti and Illustration: A Publishing History; and The Artist as Critic: Bitextuality in Fin-de-Siècle Illustrated Books.  Her co-editions include The Culture of Christina Rossetti: Female Poetics and Victorian Contexts  and, for COVE, Clemence Housman's The Were-Wolf, Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market, and Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "The Sonnet." She edits Yellow Nineties 2.0, which provides searchable editions of eight fin-de-siècle little magazines, together with an historical archive of reviews and promotional materials, and a born-digital editorial apparatus of scholarly commentary and biographical essays.
