Crawford v. Crawford and Dilke
On 12 February 1886, in Crawford v. Crawford and Dilke, Donald Crawford wins the divorce suit he brought against his wife, Virginia, on the grounds of her adultery, although the accusation that Sir Charles Dilke was her lover is not proven. By the law of the time, the decree would not become final for six months; during the intervening period before it is rendered absolute, challenges to the verdict may be entertained.
