Kingston

Type: Place | Vetted

Kingston is the capital city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island. Its coastal location opposite Port Royal made it the center of trade in Jamaica from the eighteenth century. It was the site of the 1907 Kingston earthquake, which claimed a death toll of 800 and destroyed many of the city’s historic buildings.
