London is seen in the first letter of the novel with Walton’s letters. Walton’s sister Margaret is writing from London, and he is writing from St. Petersburg. She later gets on a boat to travel to St. Petersburgh.

London was known as the biggest city in 1815. In 1825 on March 21st Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 was performed for the first time in London. The London bridge laid down its new foundation on June 15th, 1825. After the bridge was built, the first horse drawn public bus started serving people in London.
