Pisa is a city in the Tuscany region of central Italy, located on the river Arno. It is the capital of the Province of Pisa. It is home to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, the bell tower of the city’s cathedral. In the eleventh century, it became one of the historical maritime republics of Italy. Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa.
