Ronald Reagan Visits the Berlin Wall

Type: Gallery Image | Not Vetted

In this image, one can see that Ronald Reagan is giving a speech to have the Berlin Wall torn down. This came with the well known historical quote, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Although some debate the significance of these words in turning the tide of the wall’s destruction, the speech is quite commonly attributed to the momentum as a whole towards democracy and a momentary peace. In addition to this, through the image, historians can see the political involvement of other nations and how the conflict within Berlin was a representation of a much greater conflict.
