Sovetsk is a town in Kaliningrad Oblast, a federal subject of Russia on the Baltic coast. The town is located on the south bank of the Neman river. Formerly known as Tilsit, it was the site of the signing of Treaties of Tilsit between Napoleon and Tsar Alexander I of Russia in July 1807.
