St.Mary Magdalene's

Christina Rossetti voluntereed at the penitentiary from 1859 to 1870 in which it inspired her to write the poem " Goblin Market". "In the mid-19th century it became socially acceptable for middle-upper class Christian women to work at refuges." But it did help her see the importance of how women are able to overcome their pass mistakes and how they are in control of themselves. Also how it was  important for women to stick beside eachother especially considering the fact that the men were "in control".
