In November 1822, Rudolph Ackermann published the first of his yearly literary annual that will set the tone for a lucrative and long-lasting genre. The Forget Me Not continued through 1847 under the sole editorship of Frederic Shoberl, even after Ackermann’s death on March 30, 1834.
