Holborn
Holborn is a district in the boroughs of Camden and the City of Westminster in London, England. It is sometimes described as being part of the West End of London. The area has been associated with the legal professions since medieval times and is close to the Inns of Chancery and Inns of Court. In Dickens’s Great Expectations, Pip lives at Barnard’s Inn in the area. Notable residents of Holborn include Charles Dickens, who lived at Doughty Street, where his former house is now a museum; Gothic novelist Ann Radcliffe, who was born there; and William Morris, who lived at Red Lion Square.
