Armstrong Browning Library Digital Collections ID: ab-letters-ltr_80149-00
On December 17, 1880, from 19, Warwick Crescent, W., Robert Browning wrote to Henry Morley to inform him he had accepted Morley’s invitation to meet with him and his “associates”—on the condition, however, that he not be asked to give a speech, which would be a “terror.”
This letter is one of three exchanges between Browning and Morley currently available in the Armstrong Browning Library’s Digital Collections. The other two letters are from Morley to Browning, on December 24, 1878 (ab-letters-ltr_78134-00), and May 8, 1881 (ab-letters-ltr_81098-00). In both of those letters, Morley describes his progress on his anthologies and histories of English literature, which include works by Browning.
