Blackburn is an industrial town in Lancashire, England. It was historically the site of textile manufacturing since the mid-13th century. In the mid-18th century to early 20th century, Blackburn became a weaving centre and its population increased significantly. The industry included handloom weavers working from their homes and the use of power looms in the mills after 1825.
