Charbonnel and Walker’s is a very famous chocolate/candy shop in London. In the story, Romance of a Shop, it is where Phyllis gets a bonbonniere which is gifted to her by Sidney. The shop was founded in 1875 in London under the encouragement of Prince Edward VII of Wales, later King Edward and as a partnership between Ms. Walker and Mme. Charbonnel who formerly worked at another famous chocolate shop in Paris called the Maison BoissierThe partnership between Charbonnel and Walker dissolved in 1878, after which Walker continued on running the business until her death in 1883. Iconic customers have included Princess Diana, Princess Margaret, Wallis Simpson, Sir John Gielgud, and Sir Alec Guinness.

Quotes: "Lord Watergate often drops in at The Sycamores," put in Phyllis, helping herself from a smart bonbonniere from Charbonnel and Walker's; for Sidney found many indirect means of paying his pretty model; "I think he is such a nice old person." Chapter XII
