Cornwall is where Frank is from in the story,"The Romance of a Shop." When Lucy believes that Frank dies after the accident in Africa, she leaves her family to go stay with Frank's family for a few weeks. Cornwall is located a the end of the South-West peninsula. It was first settled by hunter-gatherers in 10,000 BCE. During the Bronze age, the early Cornish created most of the ancient stones and megalithic sites that are found throughout the county. At ehe beginning of the nineteenth century, Cornish Mines, were one of the largest industries in Europe, making Cornwall a hub of the industrial revolution.
"The country will be looking its very best," cried Frank, who loved his beautiful home; "the sea a mass of sapphire with the great downs rolling towards it. I mean to have a big swim the very first thing. No one knows what the sea is like, till they have been to Cornwall” (chapter XII)
