D.G. Rossetti, "The Blessed Damozel"

Dante Gabriel Rossetti published "The Blessed Damozel" in 1850 in The Germ. He revised the poem multiple times and published differing editions in 1856, 1870, and 1873. In 1871, Rossetti accepted a commission by William Graham to illustrate the poem with his painting of the same name. The painting was completed in 1878.
