Dragonstone was the original home to the Targaryens when they were still a thriving society. The Targaryens culture centered around dragons, cruelty, and many taboo practices, like how they believed the only way to keep Targaryen blood pure was to practice incest, refusing to allow the Crown to land in the hands of a foreign blood.
