Early development of the Berlin Wall

In this image, East German workers can be seen building the Berlin Wall to divide East and West Berlin. This photo was taken on November 20th, 1961 so this is very early on in the building process. The workers can be seen laying bricks with armed guards in the background. This image was taken at the Brandenburg Gate.
