Description:
Working conditions in factories became a common concern during the Victorian Era. Birmingham was a booming industrial city during the time, and held many factories and workshops where women and children were working long hours in horrible conditions. This image only touches just how bad it was for individuals spending their days and nights without any breaks in an unhealthy enviroment. Individuals who endured such condtions had no idea that their trauma would lead to reform. The poor conditions of factories and the explotiation of child labor eventually led to the Factory Acts of the 1830s and 1840s placing restrictions on working hours and acceptable working age.
