Mrs. Dalloway, in Virginia Woolf's "Mrs. Dalloway in Bond Street" (1923) walks through Westminster on her way to Bond Street, and accidentally passing it, end up by what is claimed to be the oldest bookshop in the UK: "and now—she had passed Bond Street—she was by Hatchard's book shop."
