The Hebrides are a set of islands that were settled early in the history of Great Brittain. The Hebrides were ruled by the Norse for a greater portion of their early history. After the defeat of the Vikings, the islands fell under Scotish rule. In the 1800s many people were forced to flee the country because of unfair landlords. They played an active role in World War II, siding with Great Brittian. Following the war, they underwent modernalization, but the culture of the past still shines through today.

"Wales, the invisible, the lost. Wales, the real Cantre'r Gwaelod. A small island in the Hebrides. A rock off the west coast of Ireland."
