My Argument- Did Owen's past war experience help improve his works with the language and descriptions?

WW1- Exhaustion

Historical- Exhaustion was a real problem in WW1, and the war to follow it, WW2. People would just fall down and die in the middle of nowhere because they couldn't take it anymore. 

Literary- In Owen's "Dulce et Decorum Est" he talks about being knock-kneed and coughing like hags. This just perfectly describes the way the soldiers at the time were doing. 
WW1- The March

Historical- One of the most traditional military/troop requirements was to march. This made you seem more in-line and intimidating. If you fall out of line, you may get punished. Marching is much more difficult than just walking. 

Literary- In Owen's "Dulce et Decorum Est", he writes the line "Men marched asleep" which is again explaining the hardships of being constantly on the move, and also the fact that life was a living hell for these men. 
WW1-The Front Line

Historical-  The front line was for the infantry soldiers, and probably one of the most(if not the most) dangerous spots for any soldier to be.

Literary- Owen was an Infantry solider, so he had been in the thick of it and knows what its like to be in hell. 
WW1 Gas Mask

Historical- Mustard gas was fairly common for WW1 and it was very dangerous and harmful. 

Literary- Owen has this line in "Dulce et Decorum Est", "Gas! GAS! Quick, boys!—An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time,". Gas was serious business during WW1.

 
WW1 British Trench

Historical- This is an image of British soldiers in the trenches getting ready for battle. 

Literary- Wilfred Owen wrote poems while in the trenches, and while all the explosions and rush is happening around him.
