Dramatic cliffs overlooking the ocean at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.

Ireland is significant to Frankenstein because it is where the Monster murders Henry Cleval and where Victor Frankenstein is accused of the Murder. I found this information from an academic article, "The Political Geography of Horror in Mary Shelly's Frankenstein," published by Johns Hopkins University Press, which explains that the Monster murders Frankensteins friend Henry in Ireland and that Frankenstein is unexpectedly brought there by a storm. This source is an example of peer mentorship because an academic researcher shares their research and their interpretation of Frankenstein so that the other readers and students can learn and build from it. Mapping this location on Cove lets my classmates and I build and have a better understanding to why Ireland and the events that happened there are important to Frankenstein.
