Elena Garro attended the National Autonomous University of Mexico and wrote plays for the university theatre. This is where, and for whom she wrote her famous play Un hogar sólido (A Solid Home).
It was also here that she me her husband Octavio Paz, the famous poet laureate. The play is considered a masterpiece and one of the first examples of magical realism.
This University and the plays and playwriters it hosted are some of the most famous in Mexico.
