Seattle, Washington is significant to 10 Things I Hate About You because it provides a timeless and beautiful aesthetic to make the high school love story feel real. I found this information from a website called, "The Seattle Times", which is a newspaper. This source is an example of platforms as gatekeeprs because it is made by the local paper in Seattle who wants to put Seattle in a good light due to their bias, since it is their city and they are trying to promote it.
