The Sorrows of Yamba

Type: Gallery Image | Not Vetted

This piece appeared around 1795 and is created by  J Marshall during the era of social reform era. This piece is made from ink and wove paper which creates for the piece to be able to survive time. This piece depicts a slaveowner in the transaction of a slave which  he is selling to the public. My piece is able to show the Social reform that was occuring based on the slavery still being a issue despite the reform that was occuring.

During the social reform era the country was stuck with  issues which had been affecting the people of that era. The middle class was able to create a reform which would help them create new programs to adress the issues affecting society.
